Director, Corporate Finance Transport Infrastructure
The Firm
Our client is a leading Big 4 professional services advisory firm. The award winning Corporate Finance practice provides independent financial advice to corporates, institutional investors and governments seeking to buy or sell businesses, raise new finance or improve the efficiency of the funding on their balance sheets. The transport sector – and particularly infrastructure - remains a key area for investment.
The Infrastructure and Government Group sits within Corporate Finance, providing a full range of privatisation, project finance, PFI/PPP, acquisition and financing advice to an international client base in the private and public sectors. The Group is sub-divided into sector teams, including for example Health, Environmental and Transport teams; ongoing growth leads to this new appointment.
The Role
This is a newly created role within the existing and successful Transport team which comprises two Partners, three Directors and eight AD’s. This high profile position has responsibility for the origination and delivery of advisory mandates across the transport sector, with a focus on rail, airports and ports. You will present the firm’s capabilities across all product areas, but will have a focus on buy and sell side M&A advisory. You will build, develop and maintain relationships with key clients worldwide, including corporates, financial institutions and the public sector. You will be responsible for senior coverage of the market and will lead the transaction of deals, working closely within the tightly-knit team as well as drawing in support from or providing support to the firm’s unparalleled network both in the UK and overseas to optimise the value of transactions for clients.
Qualifications
You will bring strong first hand knowledge of the Transport Infrastructure market, including experience of port, airports or rail assets. This will include previous experience of executing M&A transactions which may have been gained with another advisory firm, an investment bank, a financial institution or a corporate. Ideally you will have worked internationally, but regardless of background you will have the strategic vision, energy and credibility to lead and develop the transport infrastructure business at an exciting and critical stage of its development.
Commercial, analytical and business development oriented, you will also be sufficiently hands-on to lead the transaction of assignments to deliver a first rate client service. Culture fit is critical; working in an open manner with team members and across the firm you will be self-motivated, highly collegiate and enjoy the firm’s creative, non-hierarchical approach.
